Kudus, who is 23 years old and known for his speed and skills on the wing, will move to Tottenham for about £55 million. He’s actually the fifth player that Spurs have signed this summer. The other new players are Mathys Tel, Kevin Danso, Luka Vuskovic, and Kota Takai.
One of the main reasons Kudus wanted to join Tottenham is their new manager, Thomas Frank. Kudus said, “The most important part of why I come here is the project, and how the manager sees I can develop under him.” He also mentioned that Frank has a great record of helping young players become superstars, so Kudus is excited to learn from him.
Kudus’s journey to the Premier League is pretty cool. He started out playing for the Right to Dream academy in Ghana, then moved to Denmark to play for Nordsjaelland. After two seasons there, he signed for Ajax in the Netherlands and played there for two and a half years. In 2023, he joined West Ham and scored 13 goals in 65 Premier League matches.
Kudus says that moving to different countries was tough because of the culture changes, but he’s always worked hard and wants to use his football skills to help his family and his community back in Ghana.
Tottenham fans won’t have to wait long to see him play—the team has a pre-season match against Reading coming up on July 19th!
He only wanted Spurs.
Welcome to North London, Mohammed Kudus.
