Benitez joined Palace after his contract with PSV ended in June. The club hasn’t said yet how long his new contract will be.
Palace’s chairman, Steve Parish, said: “Walter is a great addition to our team. He brings more skill, experience, and competition to our goalkeepers alongside Dean and Remi.
“We’re excited to welcome Walter to South London next month as we get ready for a busy season in 2025/26, playing in many competitions.”
Walter will compete with the current first-choice goalkeeper Dean Henderson and backup Remi Matthews at Selhurst Park.
