Seamus Coleman, who has been the captain of Everton for a long time, has officially signed a new one-year contract extension, which means he will be with the club for his 17th season. The 36-year-old right-back from Ireland joined Everton from Sligo Rovers back in 2009 for only £60,000 and has played 426 games, making him 15th on the club’s all-time appearance list.
Even though he has faced some tough injuries, like a serious leg break in 2023, Coleman’s leadership and dedication are still very important. Manager Sean Dyche has praised his professionalism and influence.
With this new contract, he will continue playing until the 2025/26 season, which will be Everton’s last season at Goodison Park before they move to their new stadium.
Jarrad Branthwaite is said to be close to signing a new five-year contract with Everton, which will keep him at the club until 2028. This deal, which might be finalized soon, is expected to come with a big pay increase, showing how important he is becoming to the team.
The 22-year-old defender played 35 Premier League games last season and has caught the attention of Manchester United. However, Everton’s strong position and a price tag over £70 million have kept him at Goodison Park.
This comes after he recovered from a minor groin surgery, and he is expected to be back for the Leicester match on September 21, 2024.
