France came so close to making history in a crazy 5-4 loss to Spain! Even with amazing performances from Rayan Cherki and Kylian Mbappe, Les Bleus couldn’t stop Spain from taking the win in one of the wildest matches ever.

France started strong — Theo Hernandez almost scored twice early on! But Spain struck first when Nico Williams smashed a shot past Mike Maignan in the 22nd minute. Then just three minutes later, Mikel Merino made it 2-0 after a perfect pass from Oyarzabal.
France kept fighting, with Dembele, Mbappe, and Doue all testing Spain’s goalie Unai Simon. Spain thought they had scored again before halftime, but Dean Huijsen’s goal was ruled offside.
After the break, things got even worse for France. A foul from Adrien Rabiot gave Lamine Yamal a penalty, which he calmly scored. Just a minute later, Pedri made it 4-0!
But France didn’t give up. Mbappe won a penalty and scored it to make it 4-1. Then Yamal scored again to push it to 5-1. It looked over… but France had one last push!
