Everton has just signed Thierno Barry, a tall 22-year-old striker from Villarreal in Spain. Barry is now the second new player for Everton this summer, and manager David Moyes is really trying to shake things up before the new season starts.
Barry did great last season in Spain, scoring 11 goals and making four assists. Now he’s coming to Everton to help replace Dominic Calvert-Lewin up front.
Barry Super Excited to Join Everton
Barry talked to the club’s website and said he’s really happy to join Everton and can’t wait to start playing in the Premier League.
“I’m very happy. It’s really exciting to be here. I can’t wait to get started. Everton is a big club with a lot of history. Big players like Wayne Rooney and Romelu Lukaku have played here. I used to watch them when I was younger, and now I want to follow in their footsteps,” Barry said.
He also talked about his conversations with the manager, David Moyes.
“The manager told me he thinks I have the quality to play in the Premier League and wants to help me improve. I felt like he was really honest, and that made me want to join even more.”
Barry said playing in the Premier League is a dream for him. He believes he can fit in because he adapted quickly when he moved to Spain last year.
Ready to Play for the Fans
Villarreal wanted to get close to Barry’s £34 million release clause, but Everton didn’t say how much they paid for him in the end.
Barry can’t wait to play in front of Everton’s fans, especially in their new stadium next season.
“I think the fans here are really passionate – almost crazy! I love that. I want to score goals for them and celebrate together. On the pitch, I always give 100%. Scoring goals makes me happy, and I’ll always try my best for the team.”
He added, “The stadium is huge and amazing, and I’m excited to see it filled with fans. With the new manager and stadium, it feels like the club has big ambitions. I want to be part of that.”
We have completed the signing of France Under-21 striker Thierno Barry from Villarreal for an undisclosed fee.

Moyes Says More Signings Are Coming
Manager David Moyes is happy about bringing Barry to the team.
“We’re really excited to have Thierno join us. He has a lot of potential, and we hope for great things from him. We’ll give him time to settle in, and we can’t wait to start working with him,” Moyes said.
He also mentioned that Everton will be signing more players soon.
