LaLiga Fixtures Matchweek 3

LaLiga 2025/26 moves into Matchweek 3, running from Friday to Monday, August 29 – September 1.
The round kicks off under the Friday night lights and unfolds across a packed weekend in Spain.

With early-season momentum building, title contenders aim to stamp authority, while newly promoted clubs continue chasing their first big results. Below are the full fixture cards with kickoff details.

:

:

vs

Celta Vigo vs Betis

Celta is currently in 15th place in the league and has had a bit of a rough start to the season, getting just 1 point from their first two games. Last year, they finished in 7th place. They didn’t kick off the season as well as they hoped, losing to Getafe in their first match and then drawing with Mallorca in the second.

On the other hand, Betis, managed by Manuel Pellegrini, started their season on a good note but ended up with a 1-1 draw in their first game against Elche. They then pulled off a narrow 1-0 win at home against Alaves. Midfielders Giovani Lo Celso and Pablo Fornals are expected to play a key role in Betis’ attack. So far, Betis has gathered 4 points from 2 league matches, scoring 2 goals and conceding 1. They finished 6th last season and are aiming for a better position this year.

As Betis heads into the match with a strong start to the season, Celta Vigo’s impressive home record against them in recent years could make this game very competitive.

1 (Celta Vigo to Win)

Predicted CS: 2:1

:

:

vs

Elche vs Levante

Elche has not lost in their last two league matches, allowing only two goals in total. With manager Eder Sarabia, they have taken on a style focused on possession, but they haven’t managed to secure a win yet. Last season, their defense was among the best in Segunda. Elche drew 1–1 in the first round against Betis, controlling the game early on with over 70% possession in the first half.

Levante, on the other hand, has lost both of their league matches, giving up five goals while scoring three. Their defense has been weak. They haven’t won in their last three away games and are dealing with injuries, as Alfonso Pastor is out and there are doubts about Kervin Arriaga, Goduine Koyalipou, and Alan Matturro. They lost to Alaves, conceding a late goal in the 92nd minute, and then were also defeated by Barcelona, again with a goal allowed in the 91st minute.

We expect a close match with few goals, and there is a high chance that both teams will end up with one point.

X (DRAW)

Predicted CS: 1:1

:

:

vs

Valencia vs Getafe

Valencia is set to host Getafe at the Mestalla Stadium, looking to bounce back after losing to Osasuna and previously drawing with Real Sociedad. The home team will try to use their strong midfield to take control of the game and counter Getafe’s aggressive pressing. Then they drew with Atl. Madrid and earned a big point.

Getafe comes in with a lot of confidence, having won their first two games of the season against Sevilla and Celta Vigo. Under the management of Jose Bordalas, their intense pressing and disruptive playstyle usually works well both at home and away. The visitors will look to keep their good start going and put pressure on Valencia’s defense.

This game might not have many goals, with key moments of skill possibly deciding who wins. Valencia’s advantage of playing at home could be very important in helping them secure a victory.

0-2 (Under 2.5)

Predicted CS: 1:0

:

:

vs

Alavеs vs Atl. Madrid

Alaves has only scored one goal in their first two league matches, and despite having a solid defense, they let in goals. Last season, they finished in the middle of the table and had a weak scoring record at home. Their key player is Kike Garcia, and they play a tight 4-2-3-1 formation, but they have a hard time against strong attacking teams.

In their first match, they played better than Levante and won 2-1, but in the second match, they lost to Betis while playing away.

Atl. Madrid hasn’t started the season as they hoped, losing to Espanyol 2-1 in their first match and drawing with Elche in the second. Under Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid is always a team to watch for the title. Their attack, led by important forwards, can take advantage of defensive mistakes, and they know how to handle tough games away from home.

We expect Atl. Madrid to take control of the game and get their first win of the season.

2 (Atl. Madrid to Win)

Predicted CS: 1:2

:

:

vs

Oviedo vs Real Sociedad

Real Oviedo, who got promoted through playoffs after being away from La Liga for 24 years, have had a tough time since coming back, not scoring in two matches. They lost to Villarreal away with a score of 2-0, and also lost to Real Madrid with a score of 0-3. Under Veljko Paunovic, they are trying to be more organized but are missing the ability to score. Oviedo has lost both of their league games, giving up 5 goals without scoring any themselves.

Sociedad has 2 points from 2 matches, scoring 3 goals but also letting in 3. They drew with Valencia and Espanyol. Last season, they ended up in 10th place, having a strong offense but a weak defense when playing away. Coach Francisco is focusing on keeping possession and using wing play with players like Kubo and Mendez, while summer signings like Caleta-Car help strengthen the defense.

Considering how this season has started, a draw wouldn’t be surprising, so we expect an uncertain match where there won’t be more than 2 goals.

0-2 (Under 2.5)

Predicted CS: 0:1

:

:

vs

Girona vs Sevilla

Girona has lost both of their league matches, allowing 7 goals and not winning any. During pre-season, they showed they could attack well, but their defense had some issues. Recently, Girona has faced difficulties in their games. They have had back-to-back losses, including a tough 5–0 defeat against Villarreal, and previously, they were beaten by Rayo Vallecano at home with a score of 1-3. However, Girona usually performs well at home against Sevilla.

Sevilla has not earned any points from their two league matches, scoring 3 goals but letting in 5. They were defeated away by Athletic Bilbao, and in their second match at home, they lost to Getafe. Last season, they ended up in 17th place, struggling with their away games. Under Quique Sаnchez Flores, they have focused on finding balance, but their defense still has weaknesses.

Both teams have shown how vulnerable they are in defense at the start of the season, so we expect an exciting match with at least 3 goals.

3+ (Over 2.5)

Predicted CS: 2:2

:

:

vs

Real Madrid vs Mallorca

Real Madrid, under their new coach Xabi Alonso, have made a strong start to the season after strengthening their squad over the summer. The team has only lost once in their last 12 matches across all competitions. In their first two league games, they scored 4 goals without conceding, securing convincing victories over Osasuna and Real Oviedo. Alonso’s side emphasizes possession-based football combined with quick attacking transitions, making them a formidable force at home.

Mallorca, led by Jagoba Arrasate, showed glimpses of potential in their opening draw against Celta Vigo but struggled against Barcelona, suffering a 3-0 defeat. Last season, they finished 10th in La Liga. Arrasate prioritizes a solid defensive structure, yet the team’s attack remains limited, particularly when facing stronger opponents.

Real Madrid has historically dominated Mallorca in recent encounters, often scoring multiple goals. Given their current form and the attacking quality at Alonso’s disposal, the home side is expected to control the game. We anticipate a comfortable Real Madrid win, with at least three goals during the match.

1 & 3+ (Real Madrid to Win & Over2.5)

Predicted CS: 3:0

:

:

vs

Celta Vigo vs Villarreal

Celta has shown a lot of strength, especially when playing at home, with some impressive wins, like their 3–0 victory against Villarreal in April. Last season, they ended up in 7th place. Celta didn’t start the season as well as expected, losing to Getafe in the first round, and then they drew against Mallorca in the second round.

Villarreal made some great summer signings, like Logan Costa from Toulouse, which has really helped their team after finishing 5th last season. They have had 8 consecutive wins, not counting the preseason. They started the season really well, winning their first 2 matches and scoring 7 goals without letting in any. They beat R. Oviedo and Girona.

Villarreal kicked off the season excellently, and we expect them to keep up their winning streak and earn 3 points in today’s match.

2 (Villarreal to Win)

Predicted CS: 1:2

:

:

vs

Betis vs Ath Bilbao

Real Betis, led by Manuel Pellegrini, began their season well but ended up drawing their first match 1-1 against Elche. They then managed a close 1-0 victory at home against Alaves. Midfielders Giovani Lo Celso and Pablo Fornals are likely to be crucial in Betis’ attacking plans. So far, Betis has earned 4 points from 2 league matches, scoring 2 goals and allowing 1. They finished 6th last season and are hoping for a better ranking this time around.

On the other hand, Athletic Bilbao, under the management of Ernesto Valverde, secured a 3-2 win at home against Sevilla, followed by a 1-0 victory at home against Rayo Vallecano. Their pre-season results were mixed, and they currently have 6 points from 2 matches, with 4 goals scored and 2 conceded. Last season, they finished in 4th place with a strong offense. Valverde’s 4-2-3-1 formation heavily relies on the Williams brothers.

Taking into account the current performance of both teams and their key players, this upcoming match is anticipated to be very competitive. Athletic Bilbao’s strong start to the season gives them a slight advantage.

2 (Ath Bilbao to Win)

Predicted CS: 1:2

:

:

vs

Espanyol vs Osasuna

Espanyol, led by Manolo Gonzalez, kicked off their season with a surprising 2-1 win against Atl. Madrid, but then they ended up drawing 2-2 with Real Sociedad. So far, Espanyol has 4 points from 2 league matches, scoring 4 goals and allowing 4. Their recent games show they have a strong defense, focusing on keeping things organized and disciplined.

A standout player is Pere Milla, who has scored in both games. Last season, they finished in 14th place. Gonzalez’s 4-2-3-1 formation is all about quick counterattacks, but injuries are affecting their squad depth.

On the other hand, Osasuna, under Vicente Moreno, managed to win their second match 1-0 at home against Villarreal before losing to Madrid. They showed determination but had some defensive mistakes. Osasuna has 3 points from 2 matches, with 1 goal scored and 1 conceded. Their striker Ante Budimir, who scored 21 goals last season, is still a big threat in their attack. Last season, they finished in 9th place and couldn’t secure a spot in any European competitions.

With Espanyol playing at home and having a strong defensive record, they might have the upper hand against Osasuna. However, Osasuna’s toughness and key player Budimir could lead to a draw being a likely result.

X (DRAW)

Predicted CS: 1:1

:

:

vs

Rayo Vallecano vs Barcelona

Rayo Vallecano, led by Inigo Perez, have changed from fighting against relegation to being serious contenders for Europe, finishing 8th last season thanks to a strong defense.

In the first round of this season, Rayo managed to beat Girona away with a score of 1-3, but in the last round, they lost to Ath Bilbao while playing away. In these two matches, they scored 3 goals and allowed 2 goals.

Barcelona, after winning the domestic treble in 2024-25, which includes La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Supercopa, are the favorites to keep their title. They have started the season perfectly, winning both of their first matches. Currently, they are in 2nd place in the standings, having scored 6 goals and given up 2. They are also on a 9-match winning streak in away games in La Liga.

As Rayo Vallecano looks to take on Barcelona at home, the recent performance and head-to-head success of the Catalan giants make them the favorites for this game.

2 (Barcelona to Win & Over2.5)
