Newcastle have reached an agreement to sign Antonio Cordero

Antonio Cordero, who is also called Antoñito, seems to have finished his transfer to Newcastle United, a well-known club in the English Premier League, from Malaga. This transfer will start on July 1, 2025, after his contract with Málaga ended, which means it is a free transfer.

Cordero has agreed to a five-year contract, and the transfer still needs to be registered with the Premier League and Football Association, plus he has to get a UK visa.

Cordero, who is 18 years old, plays as a left winger and has played 60 games for Malaga, scoring 7 goals and giving 9 assists. He is part of the Spain Under-19 team and made headlines when he scored a last-minute goal in the play-off final against Gimnàstic de Tarragona in June 2024, which helped Malaga get promoted to the Segunda Division. His quick rise through Malaga’s youth system since 2021 and signing his first professional contract in 2022 show how fast he is developing.

It looks like Newcastle is ahead in the competition to sign Cordero, even though Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested.
