Manchester City has made a deal worth €55 million (£46.3 million) plus extras with Milan to sign midfielder Tijjani Reijnders.

Earlier in May, The Athletic reported that City reached out to Milan to show their interest in the 26-year-old, who has agreed to a five-year contract at the Etihad.
Discussions have been ongoing, and now a club-to-club agreement has been made for Reijnders to join Pep Guardiola’s team.
The Netherlands player just recently renewed his contract with the Serie A team until 2030.
Reijnders had a great season with Milan, scoring 15 goals across all competitions and being named Serie A midfielder of the year.
With Kevin De Bruyne leaving, City needs to fill a gap in midfield, even after they strengthened their squad in the winter transfer window by signing Nico Gonzalez from Porto.
They will also benefit from Rodri’s return, the Ballon d’Or winner, who came back from a long injury due to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) issue for the second-to-last game of the Premier League season.
Reijnders joined Milan from AZ in 2023 and signed a new contract that lasts until 2030 in March.
He has played for the Netherlands 22 times since his debut in 2023 and was part of the team that made it to the semi-finals of the 2024 European Championship.
