Juventus started their first-ever FIFA Club World Cup game with a bang, beating Al Ain 5-0! Al Ain had only let in one goal in their last seven matches, but Juventus were too strong this time.
Right from the start, Juventus looked sharp. Just 11 minutes in, Randal Kolo Muani jumped high to head in a perfect cross from Alberto Costa and give Juventus the lead.
Al Ain tried to fight back, but they couldn’t break through Juventus’ solid defense, led by goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio. Juventus scored again when Francisco Conceicao dribbled past defenders and his shot took a lucky deflection off Ramy Rabia.
Later, Khephren Thuram’s shot was blocked, but he passed to Kenan Yildiz who took a bold long-range shot that hit the post and went in—making it 3-0 before halftime. Just before the break, Kolo Muani ran fast to finish off a nice pass from Thuram for Juventus’ fourth goal.
After the break, Al Ain nearly scored but a close offside call stopped Ramy Rabia’s goal. Their striker Kodjo Laba forced a great save from Di Gregorio, but Juventus kept their cool. Conceicao scored again in the 58th minute by beating his marker and slotting the ball past the keeper.
Juventus’ goalkeeper rushed out later to stop Kolo Muani from getting a hat-trick, keeping the team’s momentum going. Al Ain’s Douglas Luiz missed a couple of chances, even hitting the post once.
This win was Juventus’ third straight competitive victory, their best run since February. It also ended Al Ain’s seven-game winning streak. Juventus will face Wydad AC next, while Al Ain have a tough game ahead against Manchester City.
