Lionel Messi scored a beautiful free-kick to help Inter Miami win 2-1 against Porto in Group A.
Inter Miami had started the tournament with a 0-0 draw against Al Ahly. In this game, they had to fight back after going behind early. Porto scored first in just the sixth minute. Samu put the ball in from the penalty spot after Noah Allen fouled Joao Mario in the box.
But Inter Miami came out strong in the second half. Just two minutes in, Marcelo Weigandt sent in a great cross, and Telasco Segovia smashed the ball into the top corner to make it 1-1.
Then came the big moment. Messi stepped up to take a free-kick from 25 yards out—and curled it perfectly into the top right corner. It was his 50th goal for Inter Miami and the 68th free-kick goal of his amazing career.
