Manchester United really want Brentford’s striker Bryan Mbeumo, but Brentford just said no again—even to a bigger offer!
Man United offered Brentford £62.5 million this time (£55 million straight away plus £7.5 million later), but Brentford thinks Mbeumo is worth more. Earlier, United tried with a lower offer, but Brentford didn’t accept that either.
Why do United want him so badly? Mbeumo had an awesome season last year. He scored 20 goals and gave 9 assists—that means he’s really good at helping teammates score, too!
United already bought another striker named Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5 million, but they think they need even more goals in their team.
But Brentford wants at least the same amount of money Wolves got for Cunha, all paid at once. They know lots of clubs want Mbeumo because he’s a great player.
Even Tottenham’s new manager, Thomas Frank, wants him because he used to coach him at Brentford. Other big clubs are interested, too.
Mbeumo plays for Cameroon, just like United’s goalkeeper, Andre Onana. He might miss four weeks next season because of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament, which starts on December 24 in Morocco.
Bryan Mbeumo joined Brentford from a French team called Troyes back in 2019. He’s scored 70 goals in 242 games since then, and he was a big reason why Brentford made it into the Premier League in 2021.
