Recently, there have been reports that Marco Asensio, who has a contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) until June 2026, is being offered to a Turkish club by his agents. Fenerbahçe, which is coached by José Mourinho, is looking at the 29-year-old Spanish attacking midfielder as they try to make their team stronger for the 2025-26 season.
This interest comes from Asensio not having a big role at PSG under manager Luis Enrique, but he did really well during his loan at Aston Villa, where he scored eight goals and got one assist in 21 games in the second half of the 2024-25 season.
Fenerbahçe thinks Asensio is a great target, and since his contract runs until 2026, they believe they could pay between €12-20 million for him. The club has started talking with Asensio’s agent, and Mourinho is likely to meet with Asensio to talk about a possible transfer.
However, nothing has been agreed upon yet, and other teams like Atlético de Madrid, Beşiktaş, and Real Sociedad are also interested in Asensio. Right now, the transfer is still uncertain, but Fenerbahçe is eager to get a star player to help them compete for the Turkish Süper Lig title.
