Bayer Leverkusen has officially signed Jarell Quansah from Liverpool! The 21-year-old defender from England is heading to Germany’s Bundesliga after agreeing to a transfer said to be worth £35 million, including add-ons. There’s also talk that Liverpool included a buy-back clause, so if Quansah becomes a superstar, they can bring him back.
Quansah has been with Liverpool since he was just five years old. He worked his way up through the academy and played 58 times for the senior team, scoring three goals. He even won Premier League and Carabao Cup medals during his time at Liverpool. Last season, Quansah played an important part in new manager Arne Slot’s first year, making 13 league appearances and helping Liverpool win the league.
Talking about his move, Quansah said, “I got to see Leverkusen up close when we played them in the Champions League last season. They’re a great team! It’s going to be an exciting challenge to join them as they keep getting better.”

Quansah also had a big summer, helping England’s U21 team win the European Championship. Now, he’ll be playing for Leverkusen, which has just hired former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag as their new boss.
Fans in Germany are excited to see how Quansah does with his new team, and Liverpool supporters will be keeping an eye on his progress too!
