Emiliano Martinez is being linked with a move to Manchester United as the club faces uncertainty over Andre Onana’s future.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper is expected to leave Aston Villa this summer after what appeared to be a farewell at the end of last season. Even though United can’t offer Champions League football, they are seen as one of the top clubs to sign the World Cup winner.
Reports from Argentina suggest that Martinez is interested in joining Manchester United, but a deal will only happen if Onana is sold, which might be tough to pull off. Aston Villa is reportedly open to selling Martinez and would want between £30m and £40m for him, even though he’s 32.
Initial contacts took place regarding Emiliano Martinez to Manchester United. He would be open to joining Manchester United even without Champions League football, as he is ready for a new chapter in his career. [@FabrizioRomano] #MUFC pic.twitter.com/KmONlOsWg1
