Kyle Walker, the 35-year-old right-back for Manchester City, is currently the focus of transfer discussions involving both Everton and Fenerbahçe.
Everton seems to be in the lead, as Walker has reportedly agreed to a one-year contract. However, talks with Manchester City are still happening to figure out if this will be a permanent transfer or just a 12-month loan to finish his contract, which ends in June 2026. The interest from Everton comes from their manager, David Moyes, who appreciates Walker’s experience in the Premier League and believes he would be a great addition for their new phase at Bramley-Moore Dock stadium. Mick Brown, a former scout for Manchester United, has also supported this move, saying Walker would meet Everton’s needs.
On the other hand, Fenerbahçe has also made a strong effort by putting in an official offer for Walker. Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu has reported that the club, led by José Mourinho, is actively in talks. Walker is looking for a two-year deal, and Fenerbahçe’s offer includes appealing wages, which might be influenced by Mourinho’s presence. Even so, recent updates on X and other reports indicate that Walker is leaning towards Everton, although talks with Fenerbahçe are still ongoing.
Walker’s loan at AC Milan during the second half of the 2024-25 season, where he played 16 games, didn’t lead to a permanent transfer, which brought him back to Manchester City. They have left him out of their Club World Cup squad. No agreement has been reached yet, but it looks like Everton has the advantage, as Walker is eager to keep getting regular playing time to secure his place on the England national team.
