Kylian Mbappe is officially taking over the famous number 10 jersey at Real Madrid after Luka Modric left for AC Milan. The club announced the news on Tuesday night.
The 26-year-old French star wore the number 9 shirt during his first season at Real Madrid after joining from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer. He had an amazing year, scoring 44 goals in all competitions, but the team didn’t manage to win a major trophy.
Mbappe now follows in the footsteps of Real Madrid legends like Ferenc Puskas, Clarence Seedorf, and Luis Figo, who all wore the number 10 before him. Other big names to wear the iconic shirt include Gheorghe Hagi, Michael Laudrup, Robinho, and Mesut Ozil.
