Leverkusen is looking to spend €30 million to find a replacement for Wirtz.
Sport Bild says that there is now a clear favorite to take over for Florian Wirtz at Bayer Leverkusen, with the price set at about €30 million.
With Florian Wirtz nearly moving to Liverpool, Bayer Leverkusen has a tough job ahead to find a new player to fill the shoes of the 22-year-old playmaker.
According to Sport Bild, Nico Paz is the top choice to replace Wirtz at the BayArena.
Paz made a name for himself last season with Como in Serie A, where he impressed coach Cesc Fàbregas by scoring six goals and providing nine assists in 35 games.
However, he won’t be staying with Como, as Real Madrid is expected to use their €8 million buy-back option and add him to their team for the Club World Cup in the U.S.
After that, a transfer to Leverkusen might be possible for the Argentine midfielder.
Sport Bild mentions that Real Madrid would let him go for about €30 million, but Leverkusen would probably have to agree to a buy-back clause in the contract.
At just 20 years old, Paz is looking for more playing time to help him grow as a player – something he might find more easily at Leverkusen than at Real Madrid.
