Newcastle United are about to make their first big signing of the transfer window! Reports say they have agreed to buy Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest for a huge fee of £55 million (which is about $75 million).
Several big news sources like The Athletic, BBC, and Sky Sports all said on Tuesday that the Swedish international is headed to Newcastle’s home stadium, St James’ Park.
Elanga had a fantastic season with Nottingham Forest. He helped his team finish in seventh place in the Premier League, which was a big surprise to many fans. Last season, he scored six goals and set up 11 more for his teammates.
Nottingham Forest only paid £15 million to get Elanga from Manchester United two years ago, so they’re making a big profit with this transfer!

Newcastle are trying to build a stronger team because they’ll be playing in the Champions League next season. Even though the club has a lot of money from their owners, it hasn’t been easy for them to sign new players—until now.
Fans are excited to see if Elanga can help Newcastle reach new heights next season!
